ACHIEVE SUCCESS WITH THE LEGENDARY MR JIM ROHN.

With great sadness we share that Jim Rohn, left us December 5, 2009 for a better place. So this blog is a tribute to one of my absolute favour mentors. “Jim, your legacy will live on”!!!!

Jim Rohn touched millions of lives over the past 46 years through his seminars, books, articles and CDs. He always stayed long after an event to shake hands, take pictures and sign autographs. I was very fortunate to see him perform in Atlanta and meet him in person on the Gold Coast in Australia. When I think of Mr. Rohn I think of self reliance and building confidence. He loved making a difference in people’s lives that was his passion and inspiration. Yet he was also a private man who kept a small, loyal and caring inner circle. He was a tremendous friend to those who knew him.

For more than 40 years, Jim Rohn honed his craft like a skilled artist—helping people all over the world sculpt life strategies that have expanded their imagination of what is possible and how to achieve success. Those who had the privilege of hearing him speak can attest to the elegance and common sense of his material. It is no coincidence, then, that he is widely regarded as one of the most influential thinkers of our time, and thought of by many as a national treasure. Jim authored countless books and audio and video programs, and helped motivate and shape an entire generation of personal-development trainers and hundreds of executives from America’s top corporations. He taught true entrepreneurship and leadership development from many different angles. A few famous saying from Mr Rohn:

Skills: Don’t wish it were easier; wish you were better. Don’t wish for less problems; wish for more skills. Don’t wish for less challenges; wish for more wisdom.
Growth: Don’t join an easy crowd. You won’t grow. Go where the expectations and the demands to perform and achieve are high.
Change: We generally change ourselves for one of two reasons: inspiration or desperation.
Activity: The few who do are the envy of the many who watch.
Success: Success is what you attract by the person you become

So here it is, with gratitude and amazing memories to Mr Jim Rohn…forever thankful for your amazing leadership!!

LIFE LESSONS FROM A 16 YEAR OLD!!!!!

SELF RELIANCE..JESSICA WATSON IS AN EXAMPLE FOR ALL OF US!!

One of the keys to success is self reliance. When are people old enough to rely on them self and achieving goals that they always dreamed of? To me, age is not part of the equation. Take Jessica Watson as an example.  She received so much criticism for living the dream and hopefully succeeding. Perfect example of how to succeed regardless of the doom sayers.

16 year old Jessica Watson is gearing up for the most dangerous part of her solo round-the-world voyage.  The teenager is heading for the world’s most deadly stretch of sea, Cape Horn, relying solely on the headsail after suffering a problem with the mainsail.  Jessica Watson’s parents have flown to South America in the hope of catching sight of her as she rounds Cape Horn.

Cape Horn is notorious for strong winds, big waves, strong currents and icebergs. But despite admitting to being a “little bit on edge” because of the strong winds and cold, the Australian teenager is in good spirits and enjoying the challenging conditions. “The cabin temp has been sitting on 4C. The wind chill outside is really quite something. Handling wet lines on deck is just downright painful, but mostly I’m staying toasty warm in all my layers,” she said.

Jessica Watson is expected to reach Cape Horn early next week. If Jessica completes the trip around the world, she will become the youngest solo yachtsman to circumnavigate the globe.

“There are people out there who I suppose have their doubts, and rightly so because it’s a big, scary and possibly dangerous thing, but I am not here without self confidence,” Watson said.

In preparation for the race, the 16-year-old sailor hit a 60,000 tonne coal tanker off the coast of Stradbroke Island in pitch darkness. I came through the whole thing feeling pretty confident. I mean, I won’t play it down, it was a pretty scary incident,” she said. “But years of planning and learning obviously paid off.

She was shaken, but not stirred from her resolve to circle the globe alone.  In fact, she’s thus far found the accident to be an exercise in self-reliance. “The whole incident gives me confidence ..wow, I can actually handle this,” she told reporters. “It could have happened to anyone… I’m unlucky I suppose, but you also learn from it.”

Jessica is showing tremendous leadership and showing people around the world to live your life and chase your dreams…well done Jessica and thank you!!

SELF DISCIPLINE WITH LANCE AMSTRONG..UNBELIEVABLE!!!

SELF DISCIPLINE WITH LANCE….UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!

If we talk about high human performances there is probably one word that pops up in my mind and that is self discipline. One of the keys to success has to be discipline – no doubt. I have never seen or heard from a successful person without self discipline. Whether you talk about wealth creation, leadership development, financial success or Olympic gold medal performances, self discipline is one of the pillars of success

What Is Self-Discipline?

Self-discipline is the ability to get yourself to take action regardless of your emotional state.

Imagine what you could accomplish if you could simply get yourself to follow through on your best intentions no matter what. Picture yourself saying to your body, “You’re overweight. Lose 20 pounds.” Without self-discipline that intention won’t become manifest. But with sufficient self-discipline, it’s a done deal. The pinnacle of self-discipline is when you reach the point that when you make a conscious decision; it’s virtually guaranteed you’ll follow through on it.

If we talk about self discipline one name comes up in my head: Lance Armstrong! 7 times winner of one of the toughest races in the world, the Tour du France. Below you can watch an amazing footage where Lance is preparing himself, with full self confidence, in the off season of the pro-circuit. Being a fanatic follower of the tour I know that most pro-riders will have a rest period during the time when Lance was in full self discipline, training in winter, in the Alps. Incredible. Please note the weather conditions. Most riders will use this as an excuse to stay at home; I cannot blame them, to be honest. Watch the movie and see for yourself…the ultimate in self discipline..ENJOY!!!

PINK IS GOLD!!!!

PINK IS GOLD!!!

During my daily workout in my local gym my mind wondered of.  But all of a sudden my attention was focused to one of the big flat-screen televisions on the wall. There it was. The music video clip from Pink with one of my favoured songs of all time – “Dear Mr President”

Pink (Alecia Beth Moore) born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania has achieved tremendous success within the music industry. Often perceived as rebellious and controversial she was able to find her own direction and had the strength and courage to step away from the ‘herd’.

It is often that rebellious mindset that we can find in successful people. To a certain extend I do believe that rebelliousness (is this a word?) is found in entrepreneurship. The ability to create your own path despite what is considered normal by or society and therefore seen as rebellious and controversial is one of the keys to success. Pink sums it up so profound and simple:

“I decided at 15 that I didn’t want to be one of those artists that get up and sing love songs they don’t mean. I decided that I was going to be me to the fullest extent, that my songs were going to reflect relationships I’ve had, things I’ve been through, and even the stuff I’m embarrassed about”.

Only by being ‘me to the fullest extent’ will pure creativity rise to the surface as is shown in one of the most important and authentic songs that was created from a total alignment of purpose and being in complete self confidence.  No consideration or attention to the possible reaction of the outside world or possible return on investment; on purpose fabricated to suit the needs of the music market. No not at all. “Dear Mr President’ is an absolute tremendous awesome piece of art.

So thank you Pink for being true to yourself, for showing how to succeed. You rock. You’re Gold!!
